Low Carbon Architecture Summer Programme – LCASP - 2014

The Welsh School of Architecture (WSA) has a holistic approach to design which embraces all aspects of sustainable design and planning.

The School is acknowledged as a world leader in the research and development of sustainable and low carbon building design in the UK, China and the Middle East.

The WSA launched its first International Summer Program in July 2013. The program brings together international undergraduates and recent graduates from schools of architecture and other built environment disciplines keen to develop a UK experience in low carbon design.

During the couple of weeks (2 - 16 August) spent at the Welsh School of Architecture, students engage in interactive and inspiring workshops, seminars and team work, whilst participating in project and photo competitions. Previous summer schools included talks from enthusiastic leading practitioners from renowned UK architectural firms, such as Foster and Partners, MAKE Architects, SOM, ARUP, Scott Brownrigg as well as Roger Stirk Harbour and Partners. Students were also given the opportunity to attend field visits to remarkable low carbon and sustainable venues, such as the St. Fagans National History Museum, the Crystal building in London, the BRE Innovation Park in Watford and the Eden project in Cornwall. Further educational trips to Bath City and Stonehenge were arranged in 2014.
